ReWyre Lettings - Tenants

If you are seeking accommodation in the private rented sector at an affordable rent, we may be able to help. Please contact our the Housing Advice Team based at the Hub, Green Street, Kidderminster

The Rewyre Lettings process

If you are homeless or likely to become homeless you will need to contact the Housing Advice Team at the Hub in Kidderminster. You must register with Home Choice Plus and if required complete an interview with a Housing Advice Officer.

If a suitable property can be located that meets your housing needs, a viewing will be arranged at the property with the landlord and an officer from ReWyre Lettings.

If the viewing is successful you will need to attend the property to sign for the tenancy.

A follow up visit will be completed within two weeks of the commencement of the tenancy to ensure that you have moved in and are settled. It will be an opportunity to raise any issues with the officer if you have any queries or concerns.

How to rent: the checklist for renting in England

The how to rent checklist and guidance, provided by the Department for Levelling up, Housing and Communities, is for people who are renting a home privately under an assured shorthold tenancy, either direct from a landlord or through a letting agency.

Rent levels

Rent levels will be on or around the Local Housing Allowance making them affordable for tenants in receipts of benefits. In some case there may be a rent top up required. However, you will be provided with a full financial assessment and advice on income to ensure you are in receipt of all eligible benefits. This will help to ensure that you can afford the rent payments and the tenancy remains sustainable for you.

Local Housing Allowance

The Local Housing Allowance (LHA) scheme is a method of calculating housing benefit, but is only used for private sector tenants. View more information on Local Housing Allowance.

Standards

All of the properties that we deal with are inspected by a member of our Private Sector Housing team. All properties must be in a good clean condition and free from any category one hazards under the Housing, Health and Safety Rating System.

All properties come with a valid gas certificate, electrical certificate and Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

Rent Deposit Guarantee Scheme

We can offer assistance with providing a rent deposit through our bond scheme which is up to a maximum of four weeks rent.

Discretionary Housing Payment (DHP)

If you are in receipt of benefits, a cash rent deposit may be available through the DHP fund.
